Think Globally, Drink Locally

Save the planet, drink some beer.

Some folks drive hybrids for the environment, while others sleep in trees, canvass neighborhoods and annoy you on your walk to work. Many tie newspapers in bundles and separate cans from bottles, and some even have a stinky compost pile.

However, the easiest and most relaxing method of saving the planet — by far — takes place tonight at the Boulder Theater, 2042 14th Street in Boulder. Starting at 8 p.m., Microbrews for the Environment is your chance to tip back as many $2 brews as you can — for, uh, the environment, of course, but also for your desire to get wickedly buzzed. Highlights include offerings from eighteen microbreweries, about fifty different types of beer, and live music from funky folk outfit Elephant Revival and the progressive-bluegrass purveyors in Cornmeal. Needless to say, this will be a zero-waste, carbon-neutral event.

The $21 tickets are going fast and are guaranteed to sell out. To get yours, call 303-786-7030 or go to www.bouldertheater.com.
