How a mother of two ended up in a plot to smuggle high-tech gear to the enemy.
Amy Neustein never could resist going public with her family dramas.
A visit with the hurricane victims that a country forgot.
Both offer great value, too: the b.side with its $5.75 bottomless glass of wine and $3 to $8 small plates, and Fast Forward, which is presenting twenty stories from both local and national, first-time and returning authors.
The scope of the project nearly 150 works were submitted from all over the country only adds to the evenings appeal; appearances by author Bobbie Louise Hawkins from Naropa University and nationally known flash-fiction author Linh Dinh are a bonus. Hawkins has become known for her flash essays, included in her book My Own Alphabet, which set each letter of the alphabet to a Hawkins original.
I think its going to be a really good party and celebration of flash fiction for everyone, says Leah Rogin-Roper, founder of Fast Forward.
The free event starts at 5:30 p.m. and continues until about 7:30, with live music to follow in the lounges back room. The b.side is at 2017 13th Street in Boulder; for more information, visit http://fastforwardpress.wordpress.com or call 303-744-7314.
