A new show at Neopolitan Gallery spreads Colfax love.

There’s a lot of love on Colfax Avenue, especially inside the Neopolitan Gallery, where the Colfax Cruise Picture Show is currently on display. Brought to you by Taj Moore — the same guy who created ColfaxLove.com — this exhibit covers a day in the life of the very special place that is Colfax. On May 31, Moore invited fourteen photographers, from total novices to professionals, to shoot the ’Fax’s iconic places, people and “old-school avenue awesomeness.” The project is part of his Postmodern Photo Safari series, which brings social photography to new and forgotten places.

Neopolitan’s Jen Garner, a fellow Colfax lover, says that for some of the photographers, the exhibit marks their first gallery outing. “For us, it’s way fun to see the excitement on people’s faces who are doing it for the first time,” she says.

You can experience the Colfax love and excitement at Neopolitan through July 2. The gallery, located at 3107 East Colfax Avenue, is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays or by appointment. Call 303-362-0199 or e-mail Jen@NeopolitanArtandGifts.com.
